Time for older Lincolnshire adults to learn some new tricks

Community music organisation soundLINCS has announced a brand new set of free taster sessions for their New Tricks project, offering older adults across Lincolnshire the opportunity to be a part of establishing musical groups in various venues across the county.

Whether you’re a child of the swinging 60s or the roaring 20s, if you’re an existing musician, want to blow the dust off something you haven’t played since school, or even if you’re a complete beginner wanting to try something new, then New Tricks will have something for you.

All genres and instruments are welcome, from rock to reggae and guitars to gamelans.

The taster sessions will offer the opportunity to meet other participants and work with a soundLINCS music facilitator to help progress and develop the musical interests people display a passion for.

The project is funded through Arts Council England and supported by various Lincolnshire One Venues across the county, where the first batch of taster sessions are taking place from July to October.

Lincoln Drill Hall - July 19 and 26, 11.30am to 1pm.

Terry O’Toole Theatre, North Hykeham - August 1, 8 and 15, 4pm to 6pm

Trinity Arts Centre, Gainsborough - August 3, 10 and 17, 10am to 12pm

South Holland Centre, Spalding - September 5, 12 and 19, 10.30am to 12.30pm

Stamford Arts Centre - October 4, 11 and 18, 11.30am to 1.30pm

Guildhall Arts Centre, Grantham - October 6, 13 and 20, 10.30am to 12.30pm

If you already have your instrument of choice, take it along with you to the session.
