North Lincolnshire Council, the Ancholme River Trust and the Ancholme Users Group are working together in running the festival, which will see activities for young people and the older generations alike.

Boat trips from the town centre around Island Carr should prove especially popular if, as in 2015, the event is blessed by summer sunshine.

There will also be live entertainment in and around the market place and activities at Ancholme Rowing Club and Glanford Boat Club.

Attempts are presently taking place to improve the state of the river and its surroundings, following the opening of the Town Centre to Broughton Bridge Cycle Path, which has proved a big hit locally.

Increased maintenance of the river bank with regular grass cutting, and the purchase of a weed-cutting boat and machine were announced at the spring meeting of the Ancholme Users Group.
