An evening of entertainment headed up by local folk group Da Capo will pay tribute to one of their members who lived for her music.
When Helen Benson from Middle Rasen was diagnosed with cancer, her one wish was that the disease would not take her voice.
Singing was a big part of her life and she was an integral part of Da Capo, as well as the whole Lincolnshire folk family.
“Helen was always full of life,” said fellow band member Rosie Brumpton.
“When she became ill, she never once complained.
“She was a fighter and a real inspiration to me and many other people.
“This concert is a fitting way to remember her.”
Joining Da Capo for the musical celebration event in Market Rasen Methodist Chapel on Saturday, March 22, will be Bram Taylor, John Blanks and Stitherum.
The concert start at 7.30pm and admission is free.
There will be a retiring collection for the Radiotherapy Department at Lincoln County Hospital, where Helen received her treatment.
