A Rasen area theatre is starting the year with a new award to add to its name.

The Broadbent Theatre at Wickenby has been voted Best Local Theatre in the East Midlands Region by members of the parenting support website netmums.com

“We are delighted to accept this prestigious award from Netmums, so early in the year and just two weeks before our annual pantomime starts,” said Ian Rushby, Chairman of Lindsey Rural Players, who own and run the theatre.

“This year’s show, produced entirely by skilled and talented volunteers, is set to be one of the best ever.”

Among the comments from netmums members about the award winning venue were: “What a surprise to find such a delightful experience - well worth the effort! I urge everyone to try it.”

Another described it as a “hidden gem of Lincolnshire, a more intimate and quirky venue is hard to find.”

And there is still time to support the theatre by sponsoring one of the ex-cinema, red velour, seats or placing an advert in the programme.
