THE weather continued to wreak havoc on the counties’ cricketers at the weekend, with Market Rasen Town again seeing their fixture list for the weekend washed away.
Fortunately only it’s 2nd XI were scheduled to play, so no ground has been lost in the vital Lincolnshire League Division One and Lincoln Sunday League Premier Division competitions.
With no team in Lincs League Four yet to take to the field, the 2nd XI’s enforced absence has not dented their hopes of promotion.
This weekend will, weather permitting, see the club’s senior sides in action for the first time.
The 1st XI will be looking to kick start their return to Division One cricket at Crowle, where they take on Outcasts.
Because of the bad weather, key all-rounder Gary Bierlein has had time to recover from a shoulder niggle and should be available for selection.
The 2nd XI entertain Lincolnshire League new boys Scothern 2nds and the Sunday 1st XI host Martin in their first Lincoln Sunday Premier League clash.
The Lincolnshire League fixtures both start at 1.30pm and the Sunday league game begins at 2pm.
Across the county only two games out of 22 scheduled in the Lincolnshire County Cricket League survived the weather and one of them was at Brigg Road, where Caistor 2nds lost to Washingborough.
Washingborough hit 180 for four (Grieves 90 not out). Caistor 2nds replied with 142 for nine (Paul Ridley 80 not out).
