Rain stops play for Rasen

Market Rasen and Louth Rugby Club’s 1st XVI’s vital relegation match against Spalding fell victim to the weather at the weekend.

The Willingham Road pitch was declared waterlogged and unplayable on Saturday morning.

Market Rasen have a weekend off now, but resume their fight to survive in the Midlands 1 East division on Saturday January 1.

Rasen travel to Peterborough for a 2.15pm kick off.

Peterborough were the last side the red and greens defeated back in September and lie a single place and just one point below Rasen.

A win at Peterborough could see Rasen move above Spalding and close in on Newark in tenth position.
