Bold batting, clever bowling and determination in the field was rewarded at Market Rasen Cricket Club’s annual presentation night on Friday, October 18.

After a season in which the 1st team won the Lincolnshire League and earned promotion to the Lincolnshire ECB Premier, awards were given to senior and junior members of the club.

Matt Rutherford picked up the 1st team Batsman of the Year Award, Seb Darke the prize for Fielder of the Year while the Bowler of the Year gong went to Gary Bierlien and the Captain’s Player of the Y
ear was named as Dave Papworth.

The 2nd X1 Bowler of the Year Award also went to went to Gary Bierlein, the Batsman of the Year was Jon Stephenson the Player’s Player Award went to Nic Keast while the Captain’s Player of the Year prize went to Liam Entwistle, who also picked up a special prize, the Junior Clubman of the Year, not only for his outstanding performances, but also his help in coaching throughout the Junior section.

The Sunday 1st team Bowler of the Year gong went to Matt Rutherford, the Batsman of the Year prize went to Will Bradford and the Manager’s Player of the Year was presented to James Fussey.

The Sunday 2nd XI Bowler of the Year prize went to Liam Entwistle, Jon Stephenson picked up the Batsman of the Year Award, the Players Player of the Year went to Gav Korytnickyj, while the Manager’s Player of the Year went to Liam Entwistle.

The Ladies team had a tough season in league and cup competitions but young Megan Quinlan was named as Bowler of the Year, Catherine Fussey Batsman of the year and Karen Arnold was named Player of the Year.

When it came to the Junior section awards, Wilf Marris won the Batsman of the Year Award, Louie Herret was named Bowler of the Year,Jake Christie Fielder of the Year and Benzlay Wilson Player of the Year.

In the U13s team awards Nic Keast was named as Top Batsman, Megan Quinlan Top Bowler, Mark Bedford took the Fielder of the Year title and Adam Cook was named Player of the Year.

The U15 squad have had a very successful season and Tom Keast picked up the Top Batsman prize, Charlie Scales was named Top Bowler, while the Fielder of the Year prize went to Paul Martin and James Keast won Player of the Year.
