Having won the first two races, Crowe was then penalised for a jump start in his final race with the Bemsee Club in the MRO Powerbike class.

Crowe was using the track time to test his BMW as part of his preparations for the Ulster Grand Prix and qualified to start his first race from pole position, just 0.3secs ahead of Peter Baker.

Crowe led the race from lights to flag, posting the fastest lap with a time of 1min 30.830secs for an average 86.40mph on lap three.

He won the nine-lap race with a five-second advantage over David Jackson.

Starting race two again from pole, Crowe showed his dominance over the rest of the field when he streaked away to establish an unbeatable lead and again took the win, this time by a nine-second margin from Peter Baker.

Again he posted the race’s fastest lap with a time of 1min 31.1secs (86.14mph) which was set on lap six of seven.

In race three Crowe again started from pole and would have won the seven-lap affair by a nine-second margin, but was just too keen to get away at the start and was given a 10-second penalty.

He was demoted to second place, just 0.39secs behind Baker, but did claim another fastest lap with a 1min 31.014secs (86.22mph), set on lap five.

“We came away from Cadwell this weekend with some more information for the short circuits.

“We made some very positive changes to the bike, and we have now got the rear spot on, but I used up most of the available sessions getting that right at the sacrifice of finding some front end feel and accuracy.

“I also identified a small problem with the engine brake on the superbike, but that’s a quick fix with the help of the Germans at the Ulster GP. “A few more sessions and I think we will have it cracked.”

* Cited as the fastest road race in the world, practice for the Dundrod 150 races take place today (Wednesday) with racing set for tomorrow (Thursday).

Practice for the Ulster GP is also on Thursday with racing scheduled for Saturday.
