AMATEUR golfer Richard Walker has qualified for an Audi quattro Cup UK Regional Final golf tournament this summer.

Walker from Wragby, won the Lincoln Audi Invitational, staged at the Market Rasen Golf Club, on Friday, June 29, with a score of 38–points in the Stableford rules matches.

Almost 100 amateur golfers contested the 18-hole Lincoln Audi sponsored competition. The top-four finishers from the event now pair up in a Regional Final at the Belfry Golf Club, Wishaw near Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire, on July 31.

Friday’s one-day competition is one of almost 50 Audi quattro Cup Invitational events being staged throughout the UK.

Five Regional Finals are held in July with the top 18 pairs going forward in to the Audi quattro Cup UK Final at Bowood Golf and Country Club near Calne, Wiltshire in September.

Ultimately two pairs representing Great Britain compete in the Audi quattro Cup World Final staged at the Arabella Golf Club, Western Cape, South Africa in November.

The Audi quattro Cup, being staged for the 22nd year, is the world’s largest amateur golf competition with almost 80,000 players from more than 50 countries competing for a place in the week-long World Final.
