Have your say

If you had gone down to the woods on July 10 you would have been disappointed not to have found the Teddy Bears - they were at Market Rasen Golf Club for their picnic to help celebrate Ladies’ Captain’s Day.

Jackie Parker (Lady Captain) had chosen “The Teddy Bears picnic “ as the theme for her day and the prize table was a wonderful selection of picnic and outdoor activity ware.

In the morning, the ladies entered an 18 hole Stableford competition and, along with recording their gross score at each hole, they had to make note of additional information; whether their drive made the fairway, single putts, 3 putts, number of bunkers visited and also if they were able to get out at their first attempt.

The extra information was correlated and bonus points awarded to each score.

Main prize winner on the day, after a count back, was Rebecca Ross who scored 37 points and her reward was a wonderfully well stocked picnic hamper.

In second place, also with 37 points, was Jade Baker and in third place, on 35 points, was Lynne Patrick.

Winner with the extra bonus points added was Rosemarie Lawton with 65 points, with Ronnie Sullivan in
second on 61 points and
Jenny Taylor third with 56 points.

Following revitalising refreshments of jam and cream scones accompanied with Pimms, the ladies teamed up in fours for a fun nine-hole competition, which was won by Mary Kerr, Lynne Patrick, Marilyn Tompkins and Tilly Lawrence.

Congratulations also go to Jackie Parker and Sue Borthwick who won the Lincolnshire Ladies County Captain’s day (central) held at Gainsborough Golf Club.

The event took the form of a Better Ball Stableford competition and Jackie and Sue won the Silver Salvers with 44 points.
