Tae kwon-do student Melissa Ball made the grade earlier this month when she moved up to the next black belt level.

Melissa successfully passed her third dan black belt promotion exam at Mansfield. She had to use all of her skills in the disciplines of patterns, full contact sparring, self-defence, knife defence and destruction.

Melissa trains at Yom Chi Tae Kwon-do which have clubs in Brookenby and Louth.

The club trains at Brookenby Community Centre on Wednesdays from 6pm to 7.30pm.
