Incredible scores were posted as Captain’s Day took place at Market Rasen and District Golf Club recently.
On Sunday July 3, 136 men turned out to support Captain Peter Bray in the 18–hole medal competition.
A 9–hole stableford competition was staged in the afternoon, which saw 25 ladies participate.
The overall winner of the captain’s prize was a new member of the club, Daniel Harrison, who played off a handicap of 27.
He put in a magnificent nett score of 57, which has resulted in his handicap being reduced to 22.
The ladies stableford was won by Carol Mann with a score of 20 and the runner-up was Chris Bean with 19 points. The lady nearest the pin on the fifth was Jenny Brundle.
This year saw the field divided into three handicap categories.
Up to 13 Winner Richard Everett 78-11=67 nett.
14-18 Winner Steve Stead 86-18=68 nett.
19-28 Winner Vince Pedersen 82-19=63 nett.
Nearest the pin on the 18th: Richard Everett.
Nearest the pin in two on the fifth: Peter Belk.
Longest-straightest drive on the 15th: Andy Ward.
