Brigg 1 Ben Rhydding 5
BRIGG Hockey Club made a return to league action after almost two months off due to the weather.
The snow and ice had cleared at long last to make the Quibell Park pitch fit for the home game with Ilkley based Ben Rhydding.
Brigg’s inactivity showed as they made the most sluggish of starts, gifting a goal to the visitors within five minutes, in what was their first attack on the Brigg goal.
Stuart Brumby misplaced a pass in midfield, but then Brigg gave possession away all too easily.
Ben Rhydding crossed from the right flank and an easy opportunity was presented to an unmarked forward, who had no trouble slotting his shot past Brigg keeper Tom Jackson.
