Under 15 team captain Liam McStay has been named young player of the year at Market Rasen & Louth RUFC and Club President Chris Miller was pleased to present him with the 2013 BMW Young Player of the Year Award.

Liam joined the club at U13 having learned to play the game in South West France.

U15 Head coach and Junior Chairman Andy Sullivan said: “Liam is a fine player and leader; he is popular and a well respected team captain. His work ethic is excellent and he definitely has a bright future in rugby.”

BMW have sponsored the launch of “Performance Academy” with RFU, part of the National Academy Program and the award recognises the most promising junior player (U13-U18) within the club as selected by the club coaches.

Liam received a framed personalised BMW certificate, signed by Stuart Lancaster the England Rugby Head Coach.

Liam has represented Lincolnshire County and is in the new DPP (Development Player Program) run by Leicester Tigers coaches at Market Rasen & Louth RUFC.
