Market Rasen Bowls Club

A successful 2013 season saw Market Rasen Bowls Club win the City afternoon bowls D League and promotion to the C League in 2014,

The Market Rasen Bowls Club membership has approved a 3-5 year plan to improve clubhouse, surrounds and green, with a recruitment drive beginning this year.

The total project requires 25,000 pounds to complete the planned work, with the expectation that £12,000 will be required in 2014.

The community stands to gain a top notch facility. The club has applied to The Plunkett Foundation, which works as a partner with West Lindsey District Council, for financial help so that the most pressing jobs can he completed this year.

Additionally the club has applied to be affiliated to Lincolnshire Bowls and via this Bowls England and Sports England. Applications for assistance would also be made to them - especially to the BDA [Bowling Development Association] so that the public can be part of their coaching programme.

The membership is now planning on how it will raise its own funds. Any sponsors would be welcome. Currently some very generous local residents have donated more than £2,700 as they recognise that both green and clubhouse are showing their age after 75 years of offering a fascinating friendly sport.

The membership has also approved a recruiting and publicity plan that will not only look for new members but welcome and encourage any former or inactive members.
