Market Rasen racecourse held its annual family fun day this weekend, in support of the RAF Benevolent Fund.
As well as a full card of eight races there was also an airshow conducted by RAF Waddington.
The biggest race of the day was the RAFBF Prolinx Ltd Handicap Chase which was won by Pilgrims Lane (5/2), ridden by Aidan Coleman, who held off a late charge from Sagredo (5/2) ridden by 2010 Grand National winner A P McCoy.
It was not a meeting for favourites as just three of the races were won by favoured runners.
The RAF Benevolent Fund & RAF Waddington Airshow Handicap Hurdle (Div 1) was taken by Claude Carter (7/1), with a convincing six length lead over Get Home Now (15/2).
The Div 2 race saw the first of the day’s favourite pick up a win with Favours Brave (10/3f), ridden by D C Costello in the first of the jockey’s two races of the day.
Fleet Dawn (5/2) won the meeting’s third race, the RAFBF Midshire Powerchairs Novices’ Hurdle.
McCoy scored a win in The Richard ‘The Big Show Stag’ Hutchinson Novices’ Hurdle riding Well Sharp (3/10f).
