Visitors to the biggest jump racing occasion of the year at Market Rasen Racecourse are being advised of a partial road closure on Saturday.
A crowd of approaching 10,000 will be at the Lincolnshire track for Betfred Summer Plate & Journal Ladies’ Day.
A section of Legsby Road outside the racecourse will be restricted between 4.30pm and 6.30pm. It means that, depending which car park exit they use, motorists will be specifically required to turn left or right.
Racecourse General Manager Pip Kirkby said: “Visitors should be aware that the traffic management measure means they may not be able to depart from Legsby Road in the same direction as they might normally do.
“However, we are also inviting spectators to join us for our ‘After Party’. There is no need to leave in heavy traffic; everyone can have a great party in our marquee until late.”
The ‘After Party’ takes place in The Journal marquee from 5.45pm until 10pm for those visitors who purchase £5 wristbands, which will be available in all enclosures, during the afternoon.
Racing is between 1.45pm and 5.15pm, with gates open two hours before the first race.
On-the-day prices: Family Enclosure £7.50; Tattersalls £16. Students and senior citizens save up to £4 off admission. Call 0844 579 3009 to book general admission – advance purchases qualify for up to 25% discount. Accompanied under 18s are admitted free of charge. More information is at www.marketrasenraces.co.uk.
