MARKET Rasen Racecourse will stage two more race meetings - 21 - in 2012 than this year, despite a small reduction nationwide announced by the British Horseracing Authority.
Managing director Pip Kirkby said that, as part of the largest racecourse group in Britain, Jockey Club Racecourses, the Lincolnshire venue had achieved a strong set of fixtures for next year.
All the main racing days in the calendar have been retained, including the Sunday of Grand National weekend in April, the closing day of the 2011/12 jump racing season, totesport Summer Plate and Ladies’ Day in July, Ladies’ Night in August, Prelude day in September and Boxing Day.
Fourteen of the 21 fixtures are at weekends or on Boxing Day, making the racecourse very convenient for visitors.
Market Rasen will also stage the final evening fixture of the summer for racing on turf in Britain - on Saturday, September 1.
Pip Kirkby said: “We are very happy with our fixtures which promise a great year for followers of jump racing.
“We are pleased with the racing programme, so we look ahead to 2012 with confidence and expectation.”
Annual badges - which make ideal Christmas presents - are now on sale for 2012, costing £190 single and £340 dual.
Annual badge holders receive entry to all 21 fixtures, reciprocal visits to other racecourses, discounts at Nottingham, Warwick and Huntingdon Racecourses, and a 2-for-1 admission offer for the Lincolnshire Show.
Annual badges can be ordered by calling 0844 579 3009.
Meanwhile, sales continue for the racecourse’s big Boxing Day meeting which attracts a five-figure crowd.
