MARKET Rasen Ladies played their Ping Woman’s Betterball Qualifier on Wednesday June 1.

Playing off a 3/4 handicap and competing for a place in the prestigious finals, to be held at Gainsborough Golf Club in early September, Rebecca Ross and Sue Lambert were the winners of the Market Rasen heat with their score of 45 points.

Second were Aileen Sellars and Bridget Holmes with 44 points and third Linda Reeve and Tilly Lawrence with 43.

Rebecca and Sue are now waiting to find out if their score is good enough to earn them a place in either The Grand Final or The Plate Final.

The following Wednesday, June 8, the ladies were out playing a medal qualifier together with the Wilson Trophy.

The winner of the Wilson Trophy and the Medal was Mel Gregory with her score of 99-32=67, which also earned her a two shot handicap reduction.

In second place for the trophy and medal was Jenny Holborn with 91-19=72 and third Joan Croft with 102-28=74.

In the medal only competition Pat Harrington came out on top with a score of 96-26=70.

Lowest Gross silver division went to Ann Todd with gross 83 and lowest gross bronze was Sue Wright with 95.

Both league teams have been in action. The B team were away to Gainsborough on May 24, where they earned a much valued point by halving their match.

They then entertained the ladies from Holme Hall at home on June 2 and recorded a satisfying win 3-1.

The A team are enjoying a successful season so far and recorded a win both home and away against Seacroft, together with an away win on June 7 against Ashby Decoy.
