The Red and Greens entertain second-bottom Dronfield at Willingham Road on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) as they begin their season run-in.

With six games of the season left, Rasen sit handily-placed in ninth and just the points behind seventh-paced Wellingborough.

They have been involved in a succession of tight finishes in recent weeks, edging out Bugbrooke 11-8 last time out following a one-point defeat to Paviors and five-point loss at top three side Old Northamptonians.

Dronfield, on the other hand, have picked up just two wins from their 20 league matches this season, most recently a 12-10 win at bottom side Ilkeston in January.

But there was little between the sides when they last met on November 5 when they survived a scare to scrape past the struggling Derbyshire side 18-15, with all of Rasen’s points coming from Meehal Grint.
