Ladies play for charity

Market Rasen Ladies Golf

On September 28, the ladies played a medal competition for the Cancer Charity ‘Breakthrough’.

Despite the near perfect September warm sunshine, there was only one lady played to her handicap on the day – Margaret Rylatt scored 96-24=72 to win the ‘Breakthrough Brooch’.

In second place was Glenys Cairney with 108-33=75 and in third Rebecca Ross with 92-17=75.

Lowest Gross Silver Division went to Bridget Holmes with 86 and lowest gross Bronze to Sue Archer with 105.

The following week, the Daily Mail Foursomes Qualifier was played, with the sunny calm weather having by this time given way to high wind conditions.

The pair coping the best on the day was Sylvia Mowbray and Rebecca Ross with nett 72.

In second were Jean Goodyear and Rhona Bradford on 74 from Ann Todd and Hefina Brumpton on countback.

Sylvia and Rebecca will represent the club next year in the regional heats.
