Market Rasen Golf Club held its annual Christmas ‘Whiskey Stagger’ competition, when Catering Steward Janet Parkinson organised halfway house refreshments, which included cakes and hot chocolate plus something a little stronger for those in the party mood.

The competition was a full handicap stableford event and included the drive-in for the newly elected Men’s Captain Graham Dolan.

The event was split into three handicap categories and in each category the first five players received bottles of whiskey for their efforts.

Overall winner was Steve Unwin with 46 points.

Division 2 - 15 to 18 handicap: 1 J Lowe, 41 points; 2 Steeples, 41 points; 3 S Fields, 39 points; 4 S Britton, 39 points; 5 P Conway, 39 points.
