Market Rasen and District Golf Club Ladies section held their 26th Annual Pro Am, with a total of 24 teams entering from around the country - from Wetherby to Wycombe, Lewes to Luffenham Heath - and a great day was had by all.
The winning professional was Paul Streeter from Lincoln Golf Centre with a new course record of 64.
He was closely followed by their very own club Professional Joel Cant, who played some fantastic golf on his home course to score 68.
And Joel’s team of Jackie Parker (Ladies Captain), Ann Todd and Sue Ward (from Woodhall) having led for most of the day came second overall with a score of 132.
Grateful thanks to Jenny Brundle for co-ordinating and organising this event once again and to Helen Wilson and Rhona Bradford for helping with the raffle, which raised £165 for charity.
The following week, the Ladies hosted their Invitation Day, which saw many members and friends enjoying the golf course.
The balls were flying along the fairways and the greens were like grease lightning, resulting in some impressive scoring.
And the winners were Andrea Murray and Miriam Hunter with 46 points.
Other places were: 2 Lorna Moore and D Betteridge on 44 points, 21 on back nine; 3 Sue Would and C Keen on 44 points, 20 on back 9, 14 back 6; 4 Ruth Anyan and Pip Harrison, 44, 20 on back 9, 12 back 6; 5 Aileen Sellars and Ann Bath, 43, back 9 of 23.
Other teams with 43 points were: Rhona Bradford and Noreen Bradford, 22 points on back nine; Jenny Holborn and K Reid, 21, Ann Todd and Pat Westthorpe 21, Chris Bean and S Bean 20.
Nearest the Pin for visitors was Judy Wildon with 41 cms and for members the winner was Di Newton with 233 cms.
Twos winners were Sue Borthwick, J Taylor, Lotta Brewer, Di Newton, Judy Wildon and Miriam Hunter.
A raffle was held during the day and a total of £237 was raised for Lincolnshire Girls Golf.
Thanks were given to Joel and Dan for all their help, support and enthusiasm from the Pro’s shop, to John Hewson and his team for preparing the course in great condition, Janet and her team for providing a lovely meal and finally to all the Ladies who helped and provided delicious refreshments at the half way houses.
