GOLF: New Lady Captain tees off the year in style at Market Rasen

Ladies from Market Rasen and District Golf club have enjoyed a variety of different competitions during the winter months.

New Lady Captain Ann Todd performed her first duty leading the drive in competition, striking an impressive drive from the first tee.

Di Warburton managed to get her first shot off the tee closest to Ann’s drive to win a prize.

The winning team was Jenny Holborn, Rosemarie Proudlove and Sue Would with 85 points.

In second place was Sylvia Mowbray, Margaret Dixon and Rhona Bradford with 75 points and third were Linda Reeve, Lynne Patrick and Glenys Cairney with 74 points.

The Christmas Hamper was won by Linda Dobby on 39 points, with Ronnie Sullivan second on 35 points and Gill Kent third with 33 points.

The Christmas social winning team, after a count back, was Jackie Parker, Judy Phillips and Margaret Rylatt with 45 points, In second place were Helen Grinham, Pam Ross and Lis Marsland, also on 45 points, and in third were Joy Lee, Rosemarie Proudlove, Ronnie Sullivan and Bridget Holmes with 44 points.

Jackie Parker won Santa’s Away Day with a score of 43 points; Sue Archer took second place with 39 points and Tilly Lawrence third with 38 points.

And finally, the New Year March winning team was Tilly Lawrence and Di Newton on 56 points, after a count back on the last six holes, putting Wendy Harrison and Di Warburton into second, with Ann Todd and Jenny Gaylor third on 53 points.
