The hardy Market Rasen Golf Club ladies continue to play their winter ‘fun’ programme with a variety of interesting competition formats.

The last competition in January, following a course closure due to snow, was a Florida Scramble.

The winning team of Jane Salt, Joy Purkiss and Helen Wilson took first prize with their score of 77.2.

Second were Sue Borthwick, Helen Grinham and Jenny Holborn with 78.4 and in third was the team of Jenny Brundle, Di Warburton and Glenys Cairney on 85.3.

Course conditions were very difficult with bitter winds and blizzards for a short while, so it was well done to all for completing their rounds.

On February 11, there was the Pink Lady competition, when the winners were Pauline Neal, Helen Gibbard and Sue Would with 102.

In second were Judy Phillips, Joy Purkiss and Sally Scott on 87, and in third were Jenny Gayler, Geraldine Johnson and Rosemarie Lawton on 83.

The St David’s Day Waltz winners were Helen Gibbard, Margaret Dixon and Sue Would on 82, with Sally Scott, Jane Salt and Pam Ross in second with 70, and Tilly Lawrence, Pauline Neal and Wendy Harrison third with 66.
