Dressage competition

CAISTOR Equestrian Centre are holding an evening dressage competition this Friday, May 25.

Starting at 5.30pm, there are classes to suit all horse and rider combinations, from introductory (walk and trot) to elementary.

There is also the chance to qualify for the UK Riders regional finals at preliminary, novice and elementary levels.

This bank holiday, Caistor Equestrian Centre are holding a one day event with classes for every ability from pre-intro to open.

A one day event challenges both horse and rider in all three of the major equestrian disciplines – dressage, show jumping and cross country.

All three together are physically demanding on both the horse and rider and each discipline puts emphasis on different skills and horsemanship.

The marks from the three disciplines are combined to give an overall score. To be successful at the one day event, you need a combination of a skilled, well-rounded and versatile horse and rider.

Entry: £25/class - entries received after 5pm on Wednesday May 30 will incur £5 late entry fee. Entries close Saturday June 2.

Separate dressage, hunter trials and show jumping (including clear round) will also take place on Monday June 4. Entry on the day.
