BBC Sports Personality of 2010 Tony McCoy marked his return to Market Rasen with a double, and but for a fall in the fourth race he might well have claimed a treble.

There were plenty of runners on an interesting card as Lincolnshire’s only racecourse finally beat the weather to get back on track following postponements of meetings in December.

The opening race, the Watch Racing UK Novices Hurdle with 15 runners going to post, saw a win for odds on favourite Problema Tic (10/11) with McCoy up to make it four on the trot.

The Nicky Henderson trained five-year-old won two bumpers out of two before being sent hurdling and scored at Southwell on his debut over the smaller obstacles earlier this month.

The Steve Gollings trained Dear Sam ran out while leading on the first circuit, deciding to take the chase course.

Henderson is a trainer in form at the moment and the winner looked well in control when injecting pace after the last.
