DE ASTON’S basketball team travelled to Grantham for the Under 16 Basketball Level 3 School Games Competition.

Three basketball teams from Boston Grammar School, Carre’s Grammar School and De Aston School took part in the competition, with almost 40 players playing.

And it was Carre’s who slam dunked to take the title and will now represent Lincolnshire in the regional tournament to be held next month against the qualifiers from Nottinghamshire.

“All of the teams in the Under 16 competition were fantastic – it was great to see so many schoolchildren taking part and having fun,” said Gareth Short, School Games Project Officer at Lincolnshire Sports Partnership.

Level 3 School Games Competitions will be taking place across Lincolnshire in a variety of sports.

The programme of events will culminate in a multi-sport festival at Lincoln Castle Academy, Yarborough Leisure Centre, Lincoln College Sports Fields and University of Lincoln Cricket Ground on Wednesday, June 27.
