DE ASTON pupils Darbi Murphy, 14, from Nettleton and Charlotte Emmerson, 13, from Market Rasen rode away with the lucrative first and second places prizes at the Faldingworth Equestrian Centre’s new Arena Cross-country event over the weekend.

Charlotte, riding her mare Black Diamond, rode a super round to take the second place slot and £50 prize in the 45-65cm class on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Darbi, riding her home-bred eventer Jessie’s Lovely Tinker, was the closest to the optimum time of 1:20.00 with her time of 1:19.28 in the 65-85cm class on Sunday, securing her 1st place and prize money of £100, which was sponsored by The Settlement and Jacks Tack.

Both Darbi (Team Captain) and Charlotte are members of the newly formed De Aston School Equestrian Team, which is also being sponsored by The Aston Arms and Jacks Tack.
