Brigg Hockey Club’s Mens 1st team continue to struggle in the North League Division 2 and they remain anchored to the foot of the table after a 4-1 loss at The Pods to Huddersfield.

The visitors played a high press and high tempo game from the start and took a 3-0 lead in the first half.

Brigg then got more of a grip on proceedings and managed to pull a goal back before half time when hot shot Andrew Reid scored from close quarters.

Brigg upped their game for the second half and had far more possession.

They created some good chances, but could not take advantage and in the end some loose play in possession was to prove costly, as Huddersfield broke away to seal the game with a fourth goal.

Brigg Men’s 2nd team won 4-3 at home to Scarborough, but it was a scoreline that flattered Brigg.

All Brigg goals came in the second half with Nick Beacock, Chris Hadfield, Andrew Morris and Sam Crook being the marksmen.
