And this year’s winners were Terry Radley and Alan Chandler, with Kathy Reed and Maureen Bush taking the runners-up spot.

The trophy was presented by honorary member Reg Skipper on behalf of Mrs Rhodes, to whom the club has given grateful thanks for her sponsorship over the years.

The club would also like to thank Nora Skipper, Susan Skipper and Enid Dowse for their help with organising the food and refreshments and last, but not least, all of the participants.

The tournament helps to raise funds for improvements and maintenance the lawn bowls club and green.

The green will be closed until next spring for repairs and improvements, but when it is reopened everyone will be welcome to go along and try their hand at lawn bowls.

Anyone interested in giving it a go and/or joining can contact Gary on 01673 849762.
