Market Rasen ladies took on the senior men for their bi-annual match.

The match was comprehensively won by the ladies 6 1/2 to 2 1/2 and as usual this match was played with great spirit.

Despite a damp, foggy and chilly start, 36 players took part which is a great turn out and proves what a popular fixture on the calendar this is.

The course conditions were difficult following a night of heavy rain, which the ladies turned to their advantage.

After the match an enjoyable meal was shared.

On March 16, the ladies started off their season of friendly matches with an away fixture at Gainsborough. A great day was had by all and the result was a halved match.

The Iron Woman Competition was won by Joy Purkiss, with Helen Wilson second and in third Fran Pullen.

The first qualifying stableford competition of the year saw success for Helen Gibbard, winning with a score of 35 points. In second place was Pam Ross on 34, third Lesley Brewis on 34 (count back) and fourth Sally White also on 34 (count back).
