Sunday saw the second match of the Keyline / Wavin Winter League with 10 members of Market Rasen Angling Club attending the draw at 8.30am and after some reasonable weather the anglers were greeted with a mild day, albeit overcast, with very little wind.
The match began with the all in at 9.30am and all anglers struggled early on for bites,
And this was the story for most of them throughout the match apart from Stuart Cash fishing the feeder with maggot from peg 12, Stuart did struggle early into the match, but once he got the fish feeding he stormed to a win with Bream and Skimmers to put together a match winning weight of 6lb 7oz.
Match one winner Dave Appleyard, again fishing peg 24, took second spot with 3lb 10oz and the final podium spot was taken by Barry De’Ath, with 1lb 10oz from peg 18.
After two matches, Dave Appleyard sits top of the table with 9 points, with Stuart Cash second on 8 points.
The third match in the Winter League will be fished on December 1, with the draw at 8.30am and fishing from 9.30am to 2.30pm; match fee £5.
Any members wishing to take part in the Winter League can do so by turning up for the 8.30am draw and all will be made welcome.
