Sunday saw 12 members of Market Rasen Angling Association gather at the Willingham Road Lake for their 10th leg out of 12 that they fish for the Jackson Buildbase Summer Aggregate Shield.

At the 9am all in most of the anglers, apart from those fishing feeder methods, were into fish by fishing up in the water, Dave Appleyard fishing the pole from peg 17 and fishing shallow took the match with a fine net of skimmers and a lone tench of about 4lb to accumulate a weight of 12lb 13oz at the all out.

Jim Kelham claimed second place from peg 25 with 8lb 12oz, and Barry De’Ath took the final podium place from peg 29 with 7lb 12oz.

The race for the title now sees Barry on 70 points, holding a slender three point lead over Dave Appleyard on 67 points and Andy Labaj with 56 points in third place. With only two matches left it looks like the outcome will go to the final match of the series of 12.

The next match for the anglers will be the Team Shield, where members depending on attendance shall be formed into teams, with the winning team taking all monies.

Any club members wishing to take part in the matches can do so by turning up for the 8am draw.
