Market Rasen Angling Club’s winter series reached the half-way point on Sunday.
The draw took place at 8.30am with 11 members attending, and the general banter among them was that it would be a hard fishing match and weights would be low, also that all fishing would be in with a chance of the win.
The shout of all in came at 9.30am and the match after the early morning mist had cleared was fished in sunshine and a clear sky throughout.
After five hours of fishing it was Dave Humphreys Who came out on top after a mediocre start to the series. He was fishing from Peg 13 on the method feeder and weighed in with 2lb 14oz.
Second place went to Bud Chambers from Peg 26, fishing the pole with a weight of 2lb 8oz, Barry De’ath claimed third spot and valuable points from Peg 25, fishing the pole and method feeder and weighing in with 2lb 6oz.
Finally there was a tie for the last places with Zenon Juskiw on Peg 24,, fishing the method feeder and Roy Bentley on Peg 27, fishing pole, with identical weights of 1lb 8oz.
With his third place and three points hard earned Barry De’ath now sits top of the table at the midway point in the series with an extended lead of three points from his nearest challenger.
