Sunday saw the penultimate match in the Market Rasen Angling Association’s Keyline/Wavin Winter League Aggregate Shield with 11 anglers making the draw.

Weather condition were similar to the previous match with a strong south easterly wind throughout the match, the only bonus was the rain kept away.

Following the draw it was Ted Goulsbra who drew the flyer peg 13 and Ted put it to good use throughout the five-hour match and weighed in with a winning weight of exactly 10lb. Among his catch he had a Tench that weighed 4lb 12 oz, Ted was fishing the feeder with double pinkie.

Dave Humphreys fishing peg 9 took second spot with 5lb 110z and the final spot on the podium was taken by Roy Bentley, fishing peg 7 with a weight of 2lb 30z.

With Stuart Cash sitting atop of the league table at the start of the match with 22 points there was only one other angler Dave Appleyard that could take the league to the final match if he had won this week’s match and Stuart didn’t score points.

Dave claimed one point, but it was not enough and Stuart was crowned 2013/ 2014 Keyline/Wavin Winter League Champion.

On Sunday, February 16, its the annual Pike Match at the Lake 8.30am draw.

The final Winter League Match will be fished on February 23.
