A seven-race card starting at 12 noon includes an AGA Mixed Open race, qualifier for the AGA Ladies Open Hunter Chase Final at Stratford in May and for the first time ever at Brocklesby a two and a half mile PPORA Club Member’s race..

Tom Strawson could have a successful afternoon and may collect the Brocklesby Leading rider trophy.

Strawson, who won at the Brocklesby meeting last month with Somethingwonderful, owned by his father Paul, could follow up by taking the Confined race.

The leading Midlands area rider may get off to a winning start when he partners Master Todd in the opening Maiden race.

Owned by Roger Jackson, Master Todd was second behind subsequent restricted race winner Agent For Chaos at Thorpe Lodge recently so the form looks good.

The final Strawson mount of the day will be Roby De Cimbre in the PPORA Club Member’s race.

Milson Robinson’s grey was placed in Hunter Chase company last season and the shorter two and a half mile trip will be to his liking.

Another Brocklesby jockey set to be in action is Tom Broughton who rides Ballinderry for the Cadney stable of Jane Kent on the Open Maiden.

Formerly trained by Nick Kent under rules the nine-year-old, owned by the BDS Pointers Partnership, made his point-to-point debut at the Brocklesby where he jumped well, however he would prefer a dry week and good ground.

Broughton is very much looking forward to partnering No Alterations for Victoria Cottingham, a horse he has been placed on this year already.

“No Alterations probably prefers the ground on the softer side but has also run well on better ground.

“He has been consistent this season, he jumps and stays well and hopefully he will go one better than in the Brocklesby Members race,” he said.

No Alterations is entered in the Restricted race, a qualifier for the Subaru Restricted Final Hunter Chase at Stratford in May.

Tom also has Cian Boy, a course winner to ride for his father Paul in the Midlands Area Club Member’s race for novice riders.

The Grainthorpe stable of Mike Dawson could saddle leading pointer Palypso De Creek and His Excellency.

The latter may run the feature AGA Mixed Open race and Claire Hart will ride.

His Excellency was second at Garthorpe last Sunday and is clearly in good form.

Yasmin Eagle from Riby may ride Galant Nuit in this race.

Yasmin made her race riding debut in January and has so far had two third placings with Rachel Burt’s consistent performer.
