MARKET Rasen jockey Duran Fentiman had his second big win of the summer as he powered Body And Soul to victory in the feature race on Saturday’s card at Redcar.

The eyes of the racing world were focused on the Tees Valley racecourse and the cameras of Channel 4 present for one of the most eagerly awaited races of the late summer turf season.

The Two–Year–Old Trophy (Listed) (Class 1) race was for some of the best two–year–olds in the country and Body And Soul, sent off the 4-1 favourite, got up to win by 2 1/4 lengths.

The Totepool.com Two-Year-Old Trophy is raced over three quarters of a mile, attracts entries from hundreds of horses, but only 23 could go to post.

The race, for two-year-old colts and fillies, was worth at least £125,386, and the prize was much sought after by racehorse owners and trainers on both sides of the Irish Sea.

Body and Soul tracked the leaders in the early stages and made headway to lead two furlongs out before running on well to go clear inside the final furlong.

In July, Fentiman was on board when Body and Soul won the £180,000 Newbury showpiece and Fentiman was hopeful he would have another big date with the horse and was determined to make the weight, a key to his success.

Jockeys normally get just over seven per cent of winning prize money and Fentiman was delighted to have the 26th win of the 2012 turf season that began in March and ends in November.

In terms of prize money it is the biggest year in the career of the local jockey and former De Aston School student, who is based with top trainer Tim Easterby at Malton.
