Walker in with a shot of national title and World Cup place

A GOLFER from Wragby will be bidding for national title glory this week.

Richard Walker is one of eight county golfers who has made it through to the Audi quattro UK Cup Final being held at the Bowood Golf & Country Club in Wiltshire, on September 6.

The golfers will contest the one-day, 18-hole Stableford rules competition, along with 28 other amateur golfers bidding for the national title.

The top-two pairs will go on to represent Great Britain in the Audi quattro World Cup Final staged at the Arabella Golf Club, Western Cape, South Africa in November.

The Audi quattro Cup, being staged for the 22nd year, is the world’s largest amateur golf competition, with almost 80,000 players from more than 50 countries competing for a place in the week long World Final.
