The Autumn season has been marked by the return of social golf at Market Rasen, together with some unusual competitions.
However, the final qualifying Stablefords of the year have been played.
Sue Borthwick has been playing in excellent form and has had her handicap reduced by three shots to 10.
Also of note are several other players - A Todd, S Archer, S Scott and M Dixon - who have shown consistent good form and have featured in the top four places in recent competitions.
The qualifying Stableford played on October 10 was won by S Borthwick on 41 points, with A Todd in second place on 38 points and J Holborn in third place on 35 points.
A Greensome pairs competition was played the following week and the winners were H Brumpton and A Todd, with M Dixon and S Would in second place
The final qualifying Stableford was played on October 24 and the winner, returning a score 39 points, was S Borthwick. In second place was A Todd 32 points and in third place L Moore with 27 points.
With only Irons in their Golf bags, the Ladies competed for the title Iron Woman.
And it was S Archer who won with 33 points and in second place was S Borthwick with 30 points and S Scott in third, also with 30 points.
Another Ladies competition involved driving from the men’s yellow tees providing some challenging carries.
M Dixon scored 50 points to win, with S Scott in second place with 45 points and S Archer in third place with 43 points.
Several Lady members attended the AGM of the Lincolnshire Ladies County Golf Association held at Woodhall Spa, where Bridget Holmes, Market Rasen’s Lady Captain, collected the painting which is presented to the winners of League 2 North of the County.
Also at the meeting, it was reported that Gill Kent, a member of Market Rasen Golf Club, was the County Bronze division Champion having won the Autumn meeting held at Stoke Rochford Golf Club.
