Club Champion Di Newton

AT the AGM of Owmby Golf Club Ladies Section, captain Lis Marsland thanked all members for their support over the past year and particularly the committee members for all their hard work and help, as well as Jill Guest for being official photographer and submitting reports to the local paper.

She noted they had enjoyed some great matches during the year, including Captain v Vice Captain; Lady Captain’s Drive in Charity Day; Ladies Day; Captain’s Day; Club Championship Day and not forgetting the weekend away at Forest Pines.

In addition there had been four matches against other clubs - two at home and two away - and finally the Turkey Trot/Christmas Lunch.

The monthly medals were well attended with many handicaps coming down.

Finally, she welcomed two new members Joy Lee and Sue Pope increasing the regular ladies to 22.

Rosemarie Proudlove has been appointed Lady Vice Captain and Jenny Gayler has been appointed treasurer. It was confirmed the Lady Captain and Handicap Secretary will remain in their posts for the forthcoming year, with the Handicap Secretary also taking on the responsibilities of the Competition Secretary.

For those wishing to play 18 holes on Thursday Roll-Up, it was agreed to meet at 10.15am and the nine-hole roll up would remain at 12 noon.
