Frosty fairways for Florida
MARKET Rasen Golf Club ladies have continued to enjoy a varied programme of events this winter.
The Yellow Tees Unique Stableford Competition was won by Sue Archer with 52 points, with Ronnie Sullivan in second with 45 points and Joan Zealand third on 44 points (back 9 holes 23 points) and Jenny Holborn fourth on 44 points (back 9 holes 20 points).
February 1 saw frozen hard frosted fairways that made drives super long and the temporary greens unpredictable for putting, all providing chilly conditions for a Florida Scramble - or should it have been called an Arctic Scramble.
Results were: 1st Team - Linda Reeve, Lewis Brewis, Margaret Dixon 61 points; 2nd Team - Sylvia Mowbray, Barbara Hannam, Sallie White 62 points; 3rd Team - Ronnie Sullivan, Rhona Bradford, June Dolan 63 points.
