Weather halts play
FREEZING conditions saw many of the regions football and rugby fixtures called off at the weekend.
Market Rasen RUFC 1st XV’s game away to Ilkeston fell foul of the weather. The team will now look forward to a home game against Peterborough this Saturday, with kick off at 2.15pm, if the weather allows.
Market Rasen Town FC’s Lincs Junior Cup semi-final against Pinchbeck United was also cancelled due to a frozen pitch.
Market Rasen Racecourse was also forced to call off this week’s Residents’ Day, scheduled for Tuesday February 7, because of snow on the course.
The next race meeting is now on Sunday February 19, with gates open from 11.30am with the first race setting off at 1.45pm.
