Under-9s enjoy a Swift success

Market Rasen U9s 4-1 Swifts U9s

MARKET Rasen’s first home match of the new season kicked off with Market Rasen soon on the attack forcing Swifts’ keeper to make three good saves in the first five minutes. After Swifts’ first attack in the sixth minute, new signing, Liam Jordon, went on a run from midfield leaving three Swifts’ players in his wake and scoring a fine goal from the edge of the box.

Seven minutes before the break, George Balmer scored from the edge of the box to make it 2-0. Just after this, George received a nasty knock and was replaced by Joshua Jordon.

A minute before the interval, a lovely Rasen move with excellent passing resulted in Greg Watson scoring Rasen’s third.

Swifts got a goal back just after half time when a shot just crept over the line.

Halfway through the second half, Rasen were awarded a free kick which was taken by Joshua Jordon which resulted in Benjamin Flear prodding the ball over the line for Rasen’s fourth. Rasen finished the stronger side.

This was an excellent team display with superb defending and great attacking.
