U8s see off the Tigers in a four-goal thriller

Market Rasen U8s 3-1 Hykeham Tigers U8s

THE GAME kicked off with Rasen on the attack and Ben Flear hitting a lovely shot, which the Hykeham keeper did well to save.

Hykeham had a good chance that went wide, but Rasen had chances with Finley Boyes and George Balmer going close before Callum Dean put Rasen ahead with good control and a nicely placed shot in the top corner.

Ben Flear brought two fine saves from the Hykeham keeper. Hykeham put on a little pressure just before the break, but couldn’t finish.

Rasen started the second half again on the attack with Finley Boyes and Callum Dean going close.

Hykeham created a chance which Oliver Adlam saved well in the Rasen goal before Greg Watson took it down the other end and scored a good second goal after a mazy run.

With five minutes to go, Hykeham pulled a goal back after hesitation in the Rasen defence.

With time running out, Ben Flear seized on a lazy pass from the halfway line and went on a run, scoring with a shot from the edge of the 18–yard area.
