THEY could be the stars of tomorrow’s Premier League and England squad, but for the moment youth teams at Market Rasen Football Club are hurriedly preparing for the season ahead.
Rase Park is home to youth teams from the U7s all the way through to the senior squad.
And the teams are always looking for new talent to go along to one of their training sessions and get involved.
The U9s are preparing for their first season in a competitive league having played in non competitive league since U7 level.
Coaches Karen Aistrop and Darren Christie are feeling confident the U9s can continue the success they enjoyed as U8s last year when the team won nine and its 14 games.
The team trains every Saturday from 10am.
Rasen’s U14s are also training hard ahead of the forthcoming season, being put through their paces by manager Tim Paul, assistant Rob Fisher and fitness coach Mick Quiltes.
Rob said: “We had an unfortunate season last season, but we hope with a few players that have come back into the team, it will strenghthen us as a whole. We have some great players and some great morale.
“We are starting training early because last year we found the ones that came in late did not gel with the squad until November.”
The squad trains on Wednesdays from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and on Sundays from 10.30am to 12pm.
A second XI made up primarily of Rasen’s under 18s will also play alongside the first team this season.
The first team train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.30pm. For more information call 07784748371.
