Performance improvement only leads to score draw

Market Rasen FC 1-1 Washingborough

Hoping to improve on their previous week’s performance, Rasen’s management team of Andy Brumpton and Ady Turner were able to call upon the services of both James Brothwell and Drew Norburn for the first time since 2010.

With the team returning to their usual formation and a strong central partnership of Norburn and Jake Wade, Rasen started the brighter of the two sides, but were far too often guilty of leaving passes short and losing possession.

As early as five minutes into the game a sloppy pass from Joe Osbourne allowed Washingborough to break through the Rasen defence, and but for the smart reactions of keeper Dale Christie, Rasen could quite easily have conceded an early goal.
