MARKET Rasen’s The George FC enjoyed an 8-1 win over Inter FC in the Lincoln Sunday League Ron Eaglen Cup.
The difference in class was obvious from the start of play when Steve Higgins headed home from short range.
Two further goals came from Higgins in the first half to give The George a 3-0 lead at half time.
Trevor Lowe was introduced at the break and when a penalty was awarded after 55 minutes, Lowe was handed the chance to convert.
It meant that after four years and 100 games with the club, Lowe finally broke his goal scoring duck, firing home the penalty with such power the keeper stood no chance.
Kyle Paul scored two second half goals, Higgins bagged his fourth of the day and in the closing minutes of the game an attempt from James Bennett somehow crept over the line from 10 yards to make it eight.
