Caistor Tennyson FC bowed out at the semi final stage of the Junior Challenge Cup at the weekend when they went down 1-0 at Caistor Sports Ground against North Somercotes.

A first half goal from the visitors was all that divided the teams despite the fact that Somercotes are two leagues higher than their rivals.

It was a good effort from the Caistor side who had their chances in both halves, Mike Kelly having one good effort in particular well saved by the visiting keeper.

Caistor pressed forward in the second half in search of an equaliser, but could not quite get the leveller their efforts deserved.

Both sides were backed by plenty of their supporters in front of an enthusiastic crowd that created a real cup tie atmosphere.

Caistor though can take consolation from the fact that with two games left in the season they are already assured of the Division 3 title in the East Lincolnshire Combination and promotion to Division 2.
