Caistor Rovers 4-2 Spiders Web

Rovers started this game on the back foot with the opponents looking dangerous from set pieces and long throw ins and were punished for some poor defending conceding from a corner.

As the first period continued Rovers began to get more of a foot hold in the game creating three good chances before the break.

Manager Ryan Farrow changed the shape of the team at the break and this seemed to pay dividends as Rovers found an equaliser from a quality cross from Michael Kelly, headed home by the impressive Luke Niland.

This was followed by more Rovers pressure which saw them take a well deserved lead and Luke Niland doubled his and the team’s tally.

Rovers then extend their lead from a defence spliting ball from Mike Kelly, which saw Liam Ladds provide a neat finish.

Web showed the quality converting from another corner, only for Rovers to go straight up the other end and force a Web player to put the ball in his own net.

This was a hard earned win for Rovers against an experienced Spiders web team.

Man of the match savages fish and chip shop was Terry Wright. Match ball sponsor Caistor Paper Shop.

This weekend’s fixture is a cup tie against table topping Crows Nest at Caistor Sports Ground, kick off 10.45am.
